Jim Thompson
Founder & Coach
Jim Thompson didn't start at the top; he built his strength from the ground up. Discovering his passion for fitness in college, Jim used the iron to forge not just physical power, but unwavering confidence. That relentless dedication took him to the global stage, where he placed third in the world as a competitive powerlifter in 2003. Through decades of elite-level training and firsthand experience overcoming his own injuries, Jim developed a profound, mechanical understanding of exactly what the human body is capable of achieving.
For Jim, the ultimate victory has never been his own personal records—it is translating his knowledge into life-changing results for his clients. For over 33 years (with his very first client still training strong today!), he has coached everyone from aspiring athletes and rodeo competitors to everyday people looking to reclaim their health. As an extensively certified trainer, Jim is deeply committed to continuous education, ensuring he always brings the best, most updated techniques to the floor. His dedication to service extends far beyond the gym: he is the Montana State Chairman of the American Powerlifting Organization (APO) and serves on the Board of Directors for The Mark Divine Courage Foundation, supporting veterans battling PTS.
Guided by the words of his mentor, Navy SEAL Rob Ord, Jim’s philosophy is simple:

Tough as nails! Trust me, this is the person you want training you! Not to mention by far the best value. Jim has more combined knowledge and experience than any 5 or 10 trainers in our area. This is due to his continued dedication and commitment to providing the most advanced functional training possible. This has led him to invest in working with other training experts from across our country and others. It’s also handy having close to the equivalent to a physical therapist at your disposal. THIS IS FAITH AND RESULTS DRIVEN! Check your ego and vanity at the door and be prepared to work!!!
